I’ll never forget when my husband asked me if I was going back to work after the kids start school (which my oldest is still 2 years away from doing). Now, my husband knows what I do and knows that I make money online yet he still asked me if I was going back to work. After the whole yelling at him for awhile that I do work and you try working and watching two kids all day long, I realized that there are so many people that really have no clue that a passive income could be made online that you don’t have to get a regular job. (BTW, I think my husband meant well and was just trying to strike up a conversation, but probably should have known better! LOL)
Before I quit my job to stay at home with my kids I was an administrative assistant for an insurance claims company. It’s actually kind of funny that although I was paid a lot less than what the insurance adjusters were I probably knew just about as much as they did. Anyways, when I quit that job in 2007 I was making
an annual salary just shy of $30,000. Not that much money but a lot better than any retail job I had worked before. One thing that really stuck out though was that there was no room for growth. I would always just be an administrative assistant who would get the maximum raise of 4% that was allowed each year. That was until I maxed out of my pay bracket and then would receive no more raises. The maximum an administrative assistant with my title could receive was $35,000 a year and you were stuck at this rate unless you got promoted to something like office manager or executive assistant. I could never become an adjuster because I didn’t have a college degree, so there really was no growth for me. This is why I will never ever go back to having a regular job again…despite what my husband or other people think!
With making an online passive income, there really is no set amount of money you can max out at. The more work and time you put in, the more money you make. Unlike a regular job, creating your Internet marketing business doesn’t require certain certifications or degrees, and you can really make as much money as possible and work in your pajamas all day long if you wanted.
There are so many advantages for me in making an online passive income rather than getting the normal outside the home job. For example, for the past two months I haven’t been working very much because I have been dealing with taking care of my kids as well as dealing with morning sickness. Yes, I am expecting another child, another child whom I can be home with all day long as well as still provide financially for my family. In the last two months, my income has even slightly gone up even though I haven’t put very much time into it. Can you say that any regular job you not work for two months and still get paid and even get a raise?
Creating an online passive income is by no means easy. It takes quite a bit of learning (this is why I recommend Keyword Academy) and testing before you can see the real money coming in. It does take time and work. It doesn’t happen overnight nor will it most likely happen in the first few months. But, if you stick with it and continue to work, it will happen. So many people don’t see the money and then they simply give up. Well, I can say that I am not giving up and I refuse to go back to that regular 9-5 dead-end job when I have the potential to making thousands of dollars working in my pajamas while playing with my kids all day long!
What are your reasons you will never go back to a regular job? Or if you still are working at that 9-5 job what are you looking forward to the most when you are able to quit it and live full time off your Internet marketing income?

Hi Tiffany. I just came across one of your articles on Associated Content. You wrote an article for a similar niche I have been working on for the past few months.
I didn’t know you were expecting. Congrats!
Sara,
Sometimes I think the Internet is smaller than we think! LOL
Thanks, I didn’t make an announcement, just kinda snuck it into this article.
Congrats on the upcoming little one!
I have several reasons I will never go back to a J.O.B.
1-Family responsibilities. I’m in the sandwich generation and am caring for a baby grandaughter and my elderly disabled mom. Hard to fit a job in there.
2-I have been out of the work force since May of 08.
3- I hate working for someone else. I’s hard for me to see idiotic things going on in the workplace and keep my mouth shut. And although I sometimes miss working with other people, I sure don’t miss the drama, back biting and other crap you have to deal with in the workplace. I’m much happier at home.
Congratulations. I hope you get over the morning sickness soon. We just dropped off our eldest of 6 at college.
I can’t say that I have left the work force. I still am working quite a bit and probably will for awhile. But, you are wise to recognize the unlimited potential of what you are doing. There is plenty of room for “advancement” on the net. And making more money while working less the past two months has to feel pretty good.
Hello Tiffany, congrats on your pregnancy!! I hope you start to feel better and get over the morning sickness..
I can say that I will not work a full time job anymore because I want to dedicate my time to school and making a passive income from home. A part-time job right now will be good for the time being until I get the hang of all this with building a website and content. After that, I will be job free from the labor force and working from home..
Thanks everyone! The morning sickness is starting to go away but definitely still have less energy to go around!
Cathy – I hear ya on the working with other people and all the gossip and back-biting. There are days that I miss working with other people especially since no one in my real life understands what I do, but I definitely don’t miss the drama and having someone tell me what I have to do and getting underpaid for it.
Kidgas – Six kids? I have to hand it to you there! Yep, there is truly unlimited potential when it comes to the web. I think that people who work a job and then come home and work on their sites are so dedicated and truthfully I probably could never do that (as well as have six kids!!)
Jennifer – That’s definitely a smart decision to keep a part time job so you can still afford things and to go to school as well. I think too many people rush into and quit their job and don’t realize that it does take time to make a passive income. Sounds like you are on the right track.
