My Online Passive Income Earnings for October

by Tiffany on November 3, 2010

I definitely have mixed emotions about my online passive income earnings for October. For one, they are my highest earnings so far and I am excited about that, but they are seasonal earnings and that season is now over.

I know that it is too early to tell how November will go with my earnings, but so far it’s a far cry from what I earned in October because of my Halloween sites and it’s got me frustrated already. I knew this was going to happen and all I can really do is scale mu efforts up for next Halloween (earlier than I did this year) and try to double or triple what I earned this year.

Here are my passive income earnings for October:

Content sites (eHow, Suite 101, Associated Content): $327.69

            Last Month: $294.17

            Difference: $33.52

Affiliate Commissions and Adsense: $597.71

            Last Month: $213.69

            Difference: $384.02

Total Passive Income Earnings: $925.40

Total Last Month: $507.86

Difference: $417.54

(Per day average in September was $16.93 and in October was $29.85)

I would really love to see my earnings stay this high for next month, but unless some of my Amazon sites really take off as it gets later in the month for Christmas shopping, I don’t think I will be anywhere as close to these amounts for November.

My Plans for November

Right now I am working on the Fall Frenzy writing challenge that is going on at Keyword Academy and have already published over 50,000 words since October 15. My goal is to publish 200K words before the end of the year since I know that come February I won’t be able to work on my sites very much for quite awhile. I am already seeing improvements in my rankings from this challenge.

I am also trying to concentrate on my Amazon sites as well as my other physical product niche sites that I have so that I can hopefully make some money from Christmas shopping season from them. I am also continuing to work on my Easy Paycheck Formula article marketing and seeing pretty good results with the few articles that I do have up. I have made several sales through Amazon already and am just looking for more products to promote.

I know that I said that I was going to start my PLR ATM case study in November, but it may have to wait another month or so. I just don’t have time to squeeze it in right now and rather focus on my websites for Christmas shopping than my PLR store. I will eventually get there and I know several people who have already started and finished the course and making money from their PLR stores, so it seems to be a pretty good course.

I also hope to take a few days off around Thanksgiving and spend some more time with the family. For me, it’s actually hard to not turn the computer on and work, but I think a few days (or even just a day) away will help.

What are your plans for November? Are you frantically trying to get some Hubs or Squidoo lenses up for Christmas or do you have a few Christmas sites you are working on?

Tiffany,
Great to see your success in October. I know that the fluctuations can be especially frustrating. Hopefully November won’t be too bad. It seems like you have some goals in mind that will help you in the long run.

I am trying to get to a total of 200 Hubs by the end of this year. I have 160 so that means I have 40 to go. I have enough ideas to write about 5 so will have to put on my thinking cap and come up with some decent stuff.

Are you going to publish your PLR case study as you go? I am starting a PLR case study this weekend as well and thought it would be fun to see how our strategies match up.

Thanks Kidgas – good luck on your Hubs!

Dustin – I was planning on posting my PLR case study as I follow the PLR ATM course on this blog, but there are so many things I want to get done now I’m not sure when I will actually get to it. I’ll make sure to check out your case study and maybe we can compare notes in a couple months!

I make about $30 a month right now! I always write my own thing and go after passion projects rather than money making.

I’m just learning hubpages. Just trying to get 75 author score much less throw up some Frosty hubpages. Would Frosty melt if he got in the hot hubs section?

Wow,

It’s nice to know that other people are out there trying to make a little extra case each month as well. I too am a blogger that is doing the same. I just posted my October earnings reports a couple of hours ago and only came across your site when I was making sure my post got indexed.

In any case keep up the good work. I look forward to reading through your blog and tracking your progress each month.

I’m a PPC person myself….but it seems you are more an article marketer and SEOer. That;s definitely a longer termed strategy that I’m currently implementing in my business.

Tyler – Good luck on your hubs. I never got around to publishing any hubs but it may still be something I do in the future.

Ollie – Thanks for stopping by. PPC is definitely something that scares me right now but you can make some pretty good money with it. Good luck and I’m gonna go check out your site now!

Keep in mind that people shop on Amazon year round. Just keep building and it will be fine. After the first of the year and before summer people will be shopping for the exercise equipment they never use, etc. People shop all the time.

Also, they may click on your Amazon link for whatever product you are promoting and then end up buying a treadmill. So, you don’t necessarily have to promote certain items. Just get them to Amazon and hope they buy SOMETHING within that blasted 24 hour cookie…..lol…..or at least add to their shopping cart (which I think extends past the 24 hour cookie)

Very cool, thanks for sharing! I don’t have any experience making money with content sites, but it looks pretty interesting. I’ll have to check it out. Also, I’ve looked at PLR ATM before and have wondered about it, so I’m looking forward to reading what you’ve got to say about it and see how well it works for you!

Great earnings! I understand why you have mixed feelings about the seasonal earnings, but looks like you’re still doing great even if this month did get a bit of an extra boost!

Hey Tiffany, superb earnings for October and such a huge move up on the previous month!

You mentioned that things were not looking so great so far this month – its exactly the same for me – appalling so far in comparison to previous months.

PLR is not something I use these days – I simply go along to ezinearticles and snatch a good write-up from there, then spin it profusely, of course. But when you think about it, if you are allowed to utilize the PLR content straight as it is, without infringing on copyright or something like that, then all you need is a few good quality backlinks to the article/ webpage and it will probably rank well for a range of long tails and maybe even a short tail kwd or too.

I’ve not actually tried that myself – when I did buy PLR stuff I had little true understanding of SEO principles, but in theory this sort of practice should actually work, just as long as you take care on the copyright side of things. I heard from a friend of mine that she was “ordered” to remove her website due to copyright infringement – shame because it was one of her top performers.

Keep up the very fine work Tiffany!

Kind regards
Joseph

Ruth – Thanks!

Joseph – Thanks Joseph. Yep, definitely hoping that sales pick up this month. As for PLR, I don’t use it either. The case study I was going to do on it was actually making my own PLR store, but not sure when I will get to it.

Tiffany –

NICE! Those are some astounding earnings – would you say you’ve learned some tricks from the Easy Paycheck Formula, or what would you attribute the sales jump to? Nevermind, I just re-read the top paragraph.

So, how many Halloween sites did you have up? I only had 3, and only made $100 or so (or 150?). That’s awesome, though – and it sounds like you’re hitting all 8 cylinders, so nowhere but up.

Don’t worry about not making Christmas rock – but you know what? I think you still can. Hubs and Squids…all I’m sayin’…

Way to go, Tiffany, and congratulations are long overdue.

Tiffany, I was glad to find your blog. Congratulations on your earnings. Hopefully they will continue to increase.

15 Tiffany November 17, 2010 at 2:15 pm

James – Thanks! For Christmas I decided to folow the Easy Paycheck formula for getting sales through article marketing and with the 5 articles that I have up so far, have seen at least 2 sales from each article, so not that bad. Hoping that once it gets closer to Christmas those numbers go up as all of those articles on the first page for targeted keywords.

I had 14 Halloween sites up but the majority of the money was made from 4 of them that ranked well. The other ones were too far back in the rankings to get much traffic.
